Pool Remodeling Arizona - Arizona Pools Age Faster Than You Expect

Relentless sun, hard water, and constant use are hard on surfaces. Plaster that felt smooth ten years ago now scratches your feet. A chalky calcium line rides along the tile. Grout is failing, coping is cracked, and the decking has faded into something you never picked out.

None of that means your pool is finished. The shell is usually in good shape. What needs attention is everything you see and touch, and that is exactly what a remodel addresses.

We have been renovating pools in Queen Creek, Gilbert, San Tan Valley, and East Mesa for years, and the result is almost always the same reaction: the backyard suddenly feels new again.

What We Remodel

Remodeled backyard pool with new pebble finish and tile in Queen Creek, AZ

Signs Your Pool Is Ready

Rough or scratchy plaster that catches on hands and feet

Persistent staining, mottling, or discoloration that will not brush out

A visible calcium line along the waterline tile

Tiles falling off or hollow-sounding when tapped

Cracked or lifting coping and deck sections

Plaster chipping, delaminating, or exposing gunite underneath

Rising chemical use as an aging surface becomes harder to balance

A backyard that simply looks a decade behind the rest of your home

How a Remodel Works

1. On-site consultation. We look at surface condition, tile, coping, decking, and equipment, then talk through what you want the finished backyard to feel like.

2. Clear scope and quote. Line-item pricing so you can see exactly what each element costs and decide what stays in or out.

3. Drain and prep. Pool is drained and old surface material removed.

4. Tile, coping, and structural work. New tile set, coping installed, deck work completed.

5. New interior finish applied. Plaster, quartz, or pebble installed by experienced crews.

6. Fill, startup, and balance. This is the critical part. A new surface needs a carefully managed startup, brushing schedule, and chemistry program to cure properly and last for decades.

7. Ongoing care. We can keep the pool on weekly service so your new finish stays protected.

Most remodels run two to four weeks depending on scope, weather, and material lead times.

"Joe was able to blast away the calcium build up on the tile line making my pool look new again."

Cleans out pool vac leaf filter basket, fill valve level float switch sump, removes algae from steps and pool walls-floors. Going forward, after dust storms best practice is to sweep all dust to deep end of pool and not rely on pool vac alone to clean up the dust as pool vac hose was twisting up often for the next week.

TruBlu has taken excellent care of my pool, and Joe and Cody are amazing. I have dogs (not mean, just yappy), so someone must be home to keep the dogs inside while the pool is being serviced. Several times I have asked TruBlu to change my service day to accommodate a last minute schedule change on my part, and they have always done so graciously. Great customer service!

New waterline tile installed during a pool remodel

Frequently Asked Questions.

Most pool interiors last roughly ten to fifteen years here, less if chemistry has been neglected. Rough texture, staining that will not brush away, and visible chipping are the clearest signals it is time.

A straightforward resurface and tile job often takes two to three weeks. Adding decking, water features, or equipment work can extend it to four weeks or more.

Pebble finishes typically outlast standard plaster by a wide margin, often fifteen to twenty years or more with balanced water. That is why it is the most common choice we install in the East Valley.

Yes. Spas, spillovers, water features, and combination systems are all part of standard service.

It is often the best time. Cooler months mean better scheduling availability and a finished pool ready to enjoy the moment spring arrives.
